2 Day West Cork Photo Workshop
Workshop Details:
The emphasis on Mike Brown photo workshops is to have a relaxed and fun experience with Mike on hand to help you to make great images. Mike will assist all participants wherever necessary and give loads of advice on any photographic issues you have. We will look at different locations depending on prevailing weather and wind and work towards everybody trying to find their own photographic style.
Good company with fantastic photo opportunities is what we aim provide.

Day 1: Saturday 14th September
We will meet at a designated location on Saturday morning at 10am in the Clonakilty area. Mike will decide where to go based on weather conditions etc. We may cover 2 or 3 [possibly more] locations during each day.
We will plan the day to have a break for lunch and then we will have a meal after a Sunset [8pm] session in the evening.

Day 2 Sunday 15th September
We will most likely start the day very early in the hope of a nice Sunrise[7am] and then break for breakfast. After this we will make decisions about where to spend the day. Officially the workshop will finish around 6pm on the Sunday in order for participants to head home. However, if the weather looks good for the evening Mike may be persuaded to stretch it to sunset!

This Workshop will be based in Clonakilty and surrounding areas, West Cork.
This area is renowned for its beautiful and rugged coastal landscapes and scenery but we have many other interesting features and landscapes to photograph. It is packed full of photo opportunities with superb locations close to our base.

Accommodation and Food:
This is a short weekend Workshop so accommodation and food are not included. I can advise on a range of local places to stay. We will most likely all eat dinner together on Saturday evening at a restaurant/pub close to where we finish shooting for the day. This will be at participants own discretion.
We may also eat together before we split up at the end of Sunday evening.
Lunches will also be taken wherever we find ourselves on the 2 days.

What you get:
Expert guidance and tuition from Mike during the whole weekend.
All participants will receive a copy of Mike’s Digital processing Ebook “From Capture to Print” by email. The Ebook includes full digital processing notes from Raw to Print Ready and some notes on making good exposures with examples.

What is not included:
National and International travel to and from the West Cork location.
All accommodation and food/drink are at the participants discretion on these 2 day workshops.
We will usually go to local pubs/restaurants for lunches and evening meals and each participant looks after themselves for this. Take away alternatives are available locally if you prefer. This will allow everyone to have their own budget and eating requirements catered for.
Travel during the holiday. Mike will take up to 3 participants in his own vehicle. He will expect that some participants will be happy to share driving responsibilities in their own vehicle and take up to one other participant. Distances are never too far from our Clonakilty base.
Holiday insurance - Guests are advised to purchase their own travel insurance for the weekend of required as Mike takes no responsibility for injuries sustained on the weekend. Mike is fully covered for public liability.

Who this workshop is designed for:
Our photo holidays are for all levels of SLR photographer. Whether you are just starting with digital SRL photography or are an experienced photographer there will be something for you. All the photo opportunities will offer all levels of photographer a challenge and a chance to make interesting and beautiful images. Mike will always be on hand to assist or teach and can do some 1-to-1 with guests during the quieter moments of the weekend and at locations. With over 20 years experience as a professional photographer and extensive teaching experience Mike can answer most questions in an easy to understand manner. While most digital users [and Mike] will shoot in Raw format, there is no problem if you wish to shoot Jpegs and Mike will assist you in making the most of either format.
These holidays are also perfect for traditional film users. Mike still shoots film for some projects and has years of experience of photographing with both colour transparency and black and white films.

A Digital[or film] SLR camera and whatever lenses you have available. Wide angles to short telephotos should suffice for most subject matter but longer teles and Macro lenses can be very useful on these short weekend workshops. If in doubt call or email us.
Filters: Filters [mainly Graduated] can be essential at times to get the best out of Landscape photography - particularly Sunrise and Sunset. Mike can give advice on what filters you might need or what to purchase before the Workshop - call or email him anytime.
A tripod is usually essential on these workshops.
Contact Mike regarding any question regarding gear required or suggested any time.

This has been a very popular Workshop weekend in the past and early booking is advisable as previous years have all been oversubscribed.
